Lys is an experienced trial attorney, focusing her practice on employment litigation. Before joining GPMB, Lys worked at a national labor and employment law firm, where she both litigated cases and provided ongoing advice and counsel to employers navigating Colorado’s complex legal landscape.

Lys’ extensive trial experience began with her work as a Senior Deputy District Attorney in the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, where she acted as the Office’s expert in domestic violence prosecution. During her time as a Deputy District Attorney, Lys litigated over sixty cases in front of a jury, many of which carried extensive media attention, including First Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, and multi-victim Sexual Assault. While prosecuting a large trial docket, Lys was also selected to act as one of the Office’s appellate experts, handling myriad petitions and litigation relating to post-conviction relief.

Following her tenure as a Deputy District Attorney, Lys worked as an Assistant Director at the U.S. Center for SafeSport, where she oversaw investigations into misconduct in the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. As an Assistant Director, Lys spearheaded the organization’s development of a comprehensive investigative training program emphasizing proven procedures and data-driven best practices while mitigating risk.
