Email MichaelaMichaela is an inventive attorney who approaches each case with curiosity, creativity, and a determination to help her clients navigate some of the most challenging moments of their lives. She believes that effective advocacy begins with understanding not only the legal problem, but also the person and circumstances behind it. She strives to find creative solutions to difficult problems while providing clients with thoughtful, compassionate, and effective representation.
Michaela brings a unique combination of legal and social-work experience to her practice. She has represented clients and worked on matters involving civil rights, employment law, and criminal defense at the state and federal level.
Before joining GPMBF, Michaela served as a law clerk for the Honorable Dea M. Lindsey in the 20th Judicial District and previously externed for judges and justices on the Colorado Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Before becoming an attorney, she worked as a forensic social worker with the Office of Alternate Defense Counsel, where she worked closely with individuals facing lifetime penalties.
Michaela’s background has shaped her belief that zealous advocacy requires both strategic legal thinking and a genuine understanding of her clients’ goals.
While at the University of Colorado Law she served as a Consulting Editor on Colorado Law Review, was a Fellow with the Byron White Center for Constitutional Law, and volunteered with the Korey Wise Innocence Project.
Crocheting and baking in the winter and hiking with her husband and two dogs in the summer and spring.
